Leave Management
Overview
The Leave Management feature is a crucial Global Setting ⚙️ for accurately tracking team member availability. By defining company-wide holidays and configurable types of personal leave, you provide Zymmr with the data it needs for effective resource planning, capacity management, and realistic project timelines.
This feature is divided into two key areas: Leave Types and Holidays.
1. Leave Types
This section allows you to create and manage the different categories of personal leave that employees can request, as well as set the rules and policies for that time off.
The Leave Types Screen
This screen displays a list of all configured leave categories.
- + Add Leave Type Button: Used to create a new category.
The dashboard table includes the following information:
Column | Description |
---|---|
LEAVE TYPES | The name of the leave category (e.g., "Earned Leave," "Sick Leave"). |
APPLY BEFORE (DAYS) | A policy rule defining the minimum number of days in advance a user must submit a request for this leave. |
ACTIONS | Icons to Edit (pencil) or Delete (trash can) the leave type. |
How to Add a Leave Type
- While on the "Leave Types" tab, click the + Add Leave Type button.
- The "Add Leave Type" modal will appear.
- Fill in the required information:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Leave Type * | Enter a name for the category (e.g., "Vacation," "Unpaid Leave"). |
Apply Before (Days) * | Enter a number for the minimum notice period required. 9 means users must apply 9 days in advance. |
Click the Add button to save. Your new leave type is now configured.
2. Holidays
This section is for managing the official, company-wide holiday calendar. Any dates marked here will be considered non-working days for all users, which is essential for accurate sprint planning and deadline calculations.
The Holidays Screen
This screen lists all the official holidays for your organization.
- + Add Holiday Button: Used to add a new holiday to the calendar.
The dashboard table includes the following information:
Column | Description |
---|---|
HOLIDAYS | The name of the holiday (e.g., "Independence Day"). |
DATE | The specific date of the holiday. |
ACTIONS | Icons to Edit (pencil) or Delete (trash can) a holiday. |
How to Add a Holiday
- Navigate to the Holidays tab.
- Click the + Add Holiday button in the top-right corner.
- The "Add Holiday" modal will appear.
- Provide the holiday details:

Holiday Name * | Enter the official name of the holiday (e.g., "New Year's Day"). |
Date * | Use the date picker to select the exact date of the holiday. |
Click the Add button to save the holiday to your company calendar.
